On the label CHRISTIAN DIOR - Paris New York

1960s slip

This vintage slip is as charming and well made as you would expect from the House of Christian Dior (Paris/New York). I date it to circa 1960s. SIZE ~ It's a label-stated size PETITE. Waist unstretched is 18 inches, but stretched it goes to 24/26 inches. LENGTH is 27/28 inches. It was made in the USA on the union label with a FABRIC blend of 65% Polyester (to keep it from wrinkling) and 35% cotton to give it that charm. It feels light and airy like a cotton batiste and the deep flounce at bottom is uniquely feminine. At the top of the flounce are fan pleats for a distance of about 3 inches, leading back into the smooth fabric and ending at hemline in a 1-inch exquisite lace.
