This is one of those early Shadowline sleep gowns just like they wore at the slumber parties in the late fifties. The blue color is just a little deeper, being a heavenly blue. It's a double layer gown, with a sheer nylon chiffon top layer and solid nylon underlayer. The total presentation is a floating heavenly dream in that popular baby doll cut and style with lots of billowy fabric. The boatstyle neckline is a picture-perfect nylon collar that lifts and is double nylon as well with gorgeous lace and nylon appliques all around it in floral pattern. These are exquisite and they also adorn the fantastic flounce at the bottom of gown. This flounce is 9 nches deep and reminds me so much of how the full petticoats of the 1950s looked. The length is about 36/37 inches and the armholes are 19 inches. This is a stated "small" but keep in mind that it was a vintage small which would fit a today's medium of 8 or 10. Could probably go to 12 as well, but be sure to pay attention to the armhole size if you are above size 10. The gown is in excellent condition and is smoke-free and odor free and pristine clean. The vintage Shadowline double cloth pink and black label is within.
