The wonderful old oversize issues of LIFE Magazine are always a pleasure to collect and to enjoy taking you back to that period in time. They are great to give to someone whose birthday or other significant date falls on that back issue date. CONDITION is very good plus on this magazine of 188 numbered pages. It would be wonderful for framing as well. There is a mailing label on cover, but it is in bottom margin and does not affect the lovely picture of Ms. Day. This period in time she had just made the exciting movie "Midnight Lace"--a real thriller in which she got to showcase not only some stunning fashions but also her ability to do dramatic roles as well as comedy. This actress was always in top form in her films, and this one provided an extraordinarily convincing role for her as a wife terrified that her husband is out to kill her.

Besides an interior article on Ms. Day from the movie "Midnight Lace", in this issue you will find these things and more: Lots and lots of large size color new car ads, featuring many of the 1961 autos like the Newport by Chrysler, Pontiac fantastic pull-out enlarged color ad (convertible); Ford Falcon and Ford Falcon pickup; Mercury Meteor 600; Chevy Corvair; lots of Chevys in a booklet as well as large ad--Impala, Bel Air, Biscayne, Corvair, and Wagon; stunning 2-page Cadillac; Oldsmobile; Comet; Buick wagon; Buick Le Sabre hardtop. There's also a 2-page movie ad for "Spartacus". An interesting science article on "Strange Birds That Cannot Fly"; article on the Kennedy/Nixon debates and lots of pics; and lots of pics of Jackie Kennedy and Pat Nixon. And there are 2 pics of Elvis Presley--one really cute one where he is surrounded by adoring babes that look up at him--and I'm talking babies under one year of age who are just too cute sitting on a couch with Elvis and they are looking at him just as adoringly as many of his lady co-stars did. It's really a cute picture and was taken while Elvis was making the movie "GI Blues".
