Very early Seventeen magazine in the wonderful over-size style measuring apprx 13 x 10 1/2 inches. There are 136 pages not including covers. You really got a lot of magazine for your money in the 40s!!! The modern-day teenager would probably love to have issues this large and full of wonderful things today. Within these pages you will find fabulous ads like 2 page Lane Cedar Hope Chests, Carole King dress, Lentheric perfumes, Zenith radios, Jeanette MacDonald for Lux soap, and so many more. You'll find featured pages of ideas for Christmas gifts, adorable cartoons, interesting stories, fashion features, and all the things one came to expect from the fabulous SEVEENTEEN Magazines of their time. Oh, and I must not forget the full page movie ads for movies like LIFE WITH FATHER starring Irene dunne & William Powell--how fun is that! I am sorry to say that they don't make magazines like this today.
CONDITION: If you are looking for perfect, don't expect that in a magazine 60 years old...especially a much loved one. This magazine's interior pages are very nice but the covers have notching and the spinal fold has been taped front and back. You will clearly take a fantastic trip down memory lane. Sometimes I like the little B&W ads in the back as much as the bigger colorful ads, as you will find real classic items of the day--like a 40s pinch purse and I especially love the Pixie Platter ad for a charm bracelet holding 8 mini record albums on a chain bracelet.
