This is a heavy and many paged issue of a vintage Good Housekeeping Magazine. Ther are 330 numbered pages and I think it's a bigger issues than usual as it is the pre-Christmas issue with lots of ads and suggestions for Christmas shopping. There are some movie stars in ads and there are many recipes like our grandmothers and mothers used to make. If you want a fun trip down 1948 memory lane, then this would be a great issue for that. You will find fashions, food, interior decoration, stories, and all the features that made Good Housekeeping a household word and one of the best magazines ever published. When one compares this magazine to the magazines of today, it is difficult to believe there was such wholesomeness packed inside...truly a magazine everyone in the family could read and enjoy. The condition is very good. The pages appear all intact except for a jello page ad. If there are any other cut-outs in this issue, I have not seen them and I looked quite thoroughly. The pages are clean and flat and there is good paper smell. The cover have the expected handling wear for an issue almost 60 years old. There is some spinal wear but all the pages are tight within the issue. What fun it is to read through this one! Since this is a large issue and is heavy, I will pay for media mail shipping rather than Priority Mail.
