EVENING GOWN ~ BALL GOWN

Circa 1970s or 1980s

This gown is very rich looking--sort of like all the gold in California. The stunning fabric looks like gold leaf and is a pooffy metallic type that is very lightweight with a raised pattern like brocade. It's amazing. The bodice and right down through the slightly lowered waist is an exquisite raised black crochet like raffia pattern with petite ribbon outlining the swirling raffia pattern. Peaking out from beneath is that same marvelous gold leaf fabric, giving the appearance of a two-piece gown, but it's all one--one big delightful illusion. The halter neckline is so like the Marilyn Monroe style that she wore so provactively. At the neck back is a two button/loop closure. A zipper goes down the back for easy entry. The scooped low back is very flattering.

The courtier jeweled buttons down the front have jet black stones to contrast with the goldtone metal design. The stones sparkle beautifully. One side of dress has a walking slit of 21 inches to sexily show leg. You'll make a grand entry in this elegant gown which is very classy.

The labels are all intact within the gown and everything is quite pristine, so I don't think this was worn. The fabric is 51% Acetate and 49% cotton. Entire top of dress is lined and feels dreamy on. The skirt has a sewed into the garment's seams a type of sheer lining and so the gold leafy pattern shows through and makes even the inside of this gown pretty. The length is long like a pageant gown--62 inches. SIZE 6: The bust is 32/34--the waist 26/280--and the hips 36/38. This garment has been kept smoke-free and odor-free.
