The red picture background looks better than the photo shows, as there is consistent dark color and no lightened effect in the red at the bottom right corner which was due to flash, so just know that the color quality is better than shown and this issue is in EXCELLENT condition.

This wonderful vintage intact newspaper magazine has 27 numbered pages + the 2 covers. It is oversized in size, measuring 13 1/4 x 10 3/4 inches. On cover of this issue is actress Linda Cristal. Not many of these thin news magazines survived through the years, so I would say this is rare. I have done searches for another on the WEB and have not yet found this one in complete magazine form.

These fun news magazines covered such topics as pictorial and written word on social news, animal world, food, fashion, celebrity, and there's always the ads relative to the decade. Some of the articles within are: (1) "The Typical American Girl"--this issue featured Brooklyn born Rose Messner. There were always a picture and article on the chosen one. (2) Lovely large color picture of Anne Jeffreys and Robert Sterling in pictorial article; (3) B&W pictorial article "Visiting with Danny Thomas"; (4) B&W pictorial article on Tonto and the Lone Ranger; (5) B&W pictorial article on the lovely blonde Croft twins'; (6) color pictorial article on "Happy New Year - Chinatown Style"; (7) a 2-page memorial marking President Lincoln's 150th birthday at that time; (8) recipes for both Manhattan Clam Chowder and New England Clam Chowder; (9) 2- page color article with John Noble sketches of N.Y. Harbor

If these are your interests, I think you will really enjoy collecting this hard-to-find and intact magazine.

The vintage paper has good paper smell--unlike some vintage paper collectibles. The pages are clean, flat and undamaged--even the crossword puzzle has not been worked. I obtained this issue and many others in a museum binder, so they were well kept. The 2 binder holes do not take away from such a wonderful vintage paper item as the articles are readable and the cover could still be nicely framed if that is your wish. The price you see above is total and includes free shipping within the USA by Priority Mail.
